Earlier today Argentina completed a home win over the USA Select XV in the northern city of Salta. The South Americans won the match 28-23 and did so by scoring four tries to two. Tomás Cubelli, Santiago González Valdez, Pablo Matera and Manuel Montero scored for Argentina while John Quill and AJ MacGinty crossed for the visitors. The match was uncapped but is set to be followed by annual capped internationals between the countries as Argentina and the USA are two of the six Americas nations in advanced talks to finalize a new Pan American Six Nations competition.
The following video, produced by ESPN Scrum Argentina, shows the points scored in the second half. The USA landed two penalties through AJ MacGinty before Pablo Matera and Tomás Cubelli scored a try each for the home side. Both tries were converted by flyhalf Santiago González Iglesias before MacGinty scored an impressive try down the left touchline to complete the scoring.
