In a new two-year deal Argentine winger Martín Bustos Moyano (pictured to the right) has extended his contract with French club Bayonne. The twenty-nine year old is into his second season with the Top 14 club whom he joined from Montpellier in 2013 after having arrived in France in 2010. The extended contract will enable Bustos Moyano to focus on the job in front of him, that being ensuring that Bayonne remains in the Top 14. With five rounds remaining Bayonne is sitting in 11th position on 41 competition points. The club must finish no lower than 12th or it will be relegated. Currently occupying 13th position if France's 2013 championship winning team Castres on 38 points.
Bustos Moyano is currently the 12th highest point scorer this season with 115 points at an average of 6.8 per match. With him regularly playing wing he is the leading scorer in his position. Overall Grenoble fly half Jonathan Wisniewski leads with 278 points while Argentine of Oyonnax Benjamín Urdapilleta is second with 234 points to date.
To avoid relegation Bayonne must realistically win all its home matches and look to secure bonus points and potential wins on the road. Bayonne's remaining fixtures are against Grenoble and La Rochelle at home and Toulouse, Montpellier and Bordeaux away.
Bustos Moyano has played 17 matches for Bayonne in the Top 14 so far this season. Overall he has played 98 Top 14 matches including starting for Montpellier in the 2011 Final against Toulouse. He remains a possibility for Rugby World Cup 2015. His last international appearance was in June 2014.
