Chile defeated Brazil this past Saturday by 32-3 in the South American Championship. The result puts Los Condores in a strong position to secure qualification for the 2016 CONSUR Cup. Thoughts, however, are elsewhere as both Brazil and Chile are involved in the advanced planning for the Americas to have a new annual Pan American Six Nations Championship. The proposed competition will see Argentina, Brazil, Canada, Chile, Uruguay and the USA all play each-other. Chile's big home win this past weekend at the Parque Mahuida was against a Brazilian side missing Rugby Sevens players. The CBRu has seen that the squad expected to compete at Rio de Janeiro 2016 has not been involved in senior level international rugby in the build-up to the Olympic Games.
