Argentine side the Pampas XV started the Pacific Challenge with a win over Fiji 'A' in the country's capital of Suva earlier today. Also referred to as the Fiji Warriors, the home side took an early lead after an Argentine error and a missed tackle from right winger Santiago Cordero. Following a comeback and a double from left winger Manuel Montero the South Americans claimed the lead and a try from back-rower Javier Ortega Desio sealed the result. The Fiji Warriors, though had the last say as the home side crossed for a try one minute from full time to complete the scoring at 22-20 to the visiting South Americans. Round two of the World Rugby Pacific Challenge will be played in three days time with the Pampas XV taking on Tonga 'A'.
