Having qualified for Rugby World Cup 2015 Uruguayan authorities, players and rugby writers were common in voicing the need for a complete fixture list to prepare Los Teros for the tournament. Their wishes have been granted as hard work from the administration in combination with efforts from other unions and World Rugby have given the number two ranked South American rugby nation with a complet fixture list to build up towards England and Wales 2015. Uruguay's 2015 schedule underlines how important it is for a country to qualify for the Rugby World Cup. While 2015 will mark Uruguay's third time playing in a Rugby World Cup the year is nothing less than ground-breaking with an impressive list (as shown to the right) of fixtures awaiting Los Teros both at home and abroad between now and September.

Uruguay has secured a detail match list this year. The international calendar show cases a total of seventeen fixtures, including ten capped test matches, to be played between now and the start of the World Cup in England and Wales on Friday September 18. The impressive list has ben designed with the intention of Uruguay being as competitive as possible on the global stage come September.

The international program will begin next Sunday with Montevideo hosting the UruCup at the Estadio Charrúa. It will be followed by home matches against Fiji and the USA and the South American Championship in April and May while Uruguay will play in the Tbilisi Cup in Georgia in June against the home side in addition to Ireland 'A' and Italy 'A'.

August is to be the warm-up month for the World Cup for all participants and in the case of Uruguay Los Teros will play a home test match against Argentina before traveling to Asia to play two test matches against Japan. From there Uruguay will play a non-capped international against the Barbarians in the form of a Basque XV fourteen days before the opening of the World Cup in London.

Uruguay will play its first match of the World Cup on the third day of the tournament against sub-hosts Wales. It will be on Sunday September 20 at the Millennium Stadium in Cardiff.
