Argentina's 2012 Junior World Championship was groundbreaking. The South Americans completed wins over France, Scotland and Australia by scorelines of 18-15, 17-12 and 15-3 to win Group C. Involved for Argentina were a number of players to now be firmly established in Daniel Hourcade's senior Pumas squad, notably Pablo Matera (pictured to the right) and Facundo Isa were both starting back-rowers. Santiago Iglesias Valdez, Matías Díaz and Juan Cruz Guillemáin were also all involved. The win over Australia was arguably the most noteworthy due to it taking place two months prior to Argentina playing its first match in the Rugby Championship.
