Guinness Pro 12: Juan Ymaz joins Treviso

Uncapped Argentine back-rower Juan Ymaz has joined Italian side Benetton Treviso with immediate effect. The Italian side is well off the pace in the Guinness Pro 12 but needs to remain placed higher than Zebre in order to qualify for the 2015-2016 European Rugby Champions Cup. Ymaz joins the team in an effort to improve the roster during the Six Nations due to Benetton Treviso missing back-rowers Marco Barbini, Simone Favaro, Francesco Minto and Alessandro Zanni to international duty.

Having recently moved to Italy to play for Valpolicella in the Italian league Juan Ymaz has been contracted on a temporary basis to play for Italy's best team, Benetton Treviso. His contract comes after he has scored an impressive six tries in three matches to date for Valpolicella.

The CASI back-rower will be utilized to fill the vacancies left by four back-row players being involved in Italy's Six Nations campaign. Aged 24 Ymaz has an opportunity to begin a professional career at the elite level. Should he impress during his time at Benetton Treviso then he could be offered a long-term deal. Him being uncapped provides him with added value to Italian rugby.

The club is home to Argentine players Romulo Acosta and former Puma Tomás Vallejos Cinalli. A number of others have previously played for the club including Lucas Borges who started on the right wing for Argentina in Rugby World Cup 2007.
