Martín José Terán Nougues scored the first try for Argentina in Rugby World Cup 1991. The try was against tournament winners Australia in what was the opening group fixture of Pool 3 which also consisted of Wales and Western Samoa. Terán's try came in response to a Wallaby try as the right winger finished off a successful regathering of a Lisandro Arbizu kick to score in the right corner. The match was played at the former home of ther Scarlets, Stradey Park in Llanelli. All Pool 3 matches were in Wales which will host World Cup matches for a fourth time in eight tournaments in 2015. Terán played thirty test matches for Argentina from 1991-1995 and played in two Rugby World Cups. He debuted against New Zealand in what was the final ever two match All Blacks tour of the country.
