Canada won one and lost three matches at Rugby World Cup 2003. The North Americas were grouped with Italy, New Zealand, Tonga and Wales and played well in all games with both Italy and Wales being pushed at times. The match against Wales was the first of the tournament for both teams ad took place in Melbourne.  Canadian fly half Bobby Ross was the first player to score when he landed a fourth minute drop goal. The score was the result of Canadian pressure. Back-rower Josh Jackson had secured lineout ball deep in Welsh territory. From the resulting ruck scrumhalf Morgan Williams spun the ball to Ross who converted the opportunity. Ross played 58 test matches for Canada over a period of fifteen years. His final test was that against Tonga in Wollongong which saw Canada finishing ahead of the Pacific Islanders in the pool.  In Rugby World  Cup 2015 Canada will only fae Europea opposition but will play in both England and Wales.
