International Rugby: Santiago González Iglesias tackles v France

With Daniel Hourcade replacing Santiago Phelan as Argentine rugby head coach a new policy was implemented which saw a number of players given opportunities that did had not previously existed. Alumni fly half Santiago González Iglesias was such a player, earning nine caps in the year to bring his total to twelve despite having debuted in 2009. González Iglesias was not selected at all by Phelan with his three previous caps being against Chile and Uruguay but Hourcade had him involved in vital test matches including last weekend's win over France in Paris. The defence of González Iglesias was noteworthy as he displayed sound technique in defending at outside centre following the loss of Marcelo Bosch to injury midway through the opening half.
