The USA Eagles recovered from the heavy loss in Chicago last weekend against New Zealand by defeating Romania 27-17 in Bucharest. With Romania ranked higher than the USA the result combined with Canada winning in Colwyn Bay on Friday will see the USA rise two places to 16th in the world with Canada rising to 17th but Romania dropping to 18th. The three tries to two victory over Romania featured an impressive score by the returning Taku Ngwenya. Also crossing were Fullback Folau Niua and winger Tim Stanfill who both scored their first ever test tries. Scrumhalf Mike Petri landed a dropgoal which Adam Siddall scored nine points from the tee.
