The day after the USA Eagles started their autumn international series with a home match against New Zealand Canada did so in England in a non-capped match against a composite XV. With the match taking place outside of the official release window for international competition in November Canada faced the RFU Championship XV without leading players involved in the Aviva Premiership, Guinness Pro 12 and Top 14. The Canadian side was, therefore, far from being at full strength. Nevertheless having held an 18-7 at the interval Canada ought to have won the fixture. Instead the English team came out winners by a scoreline of 28-23. The North Americans scored three tries with Gord McRorie crossing for two, Kyle Gilmour for one and James Pritchard kicking eight points. Canada will now travel to Northern Wales to face Namibia in Colwyn Bay on Friday.
