Canada's hard-fought 17-13 victory over Namibia in Colwyn Bay, Wales on Friday was a match in which head coach Kieran Crowley was looking to explore options. With Namibia being a Tier Three nation and not being as strong as Canada's opponents over the coming weeks, Samoa and Romania, there were a number of players rested and players playing out of position. The alterations gave Sevens player Nanyak Dala his first test cap in twelve months and he took the opportunity to score Canada's only try of the match. Dala played three matches at Rugby World Cup 2011 and the thirty year old is targeting a place in England and Wales 2015. With Jamie Cudmore, Jon Phelan and Tyler Ardron expected back for Samoa Crowley is likely to alter his back-five forwards considerably. Dala remains a strong contender to be in the match day 23 either as a starting flanker or replacement.
