With Italy advancing into Argentine territory in the 38th minute Argentina was in danger of going into half time well behind. The Europeans were leading 12-3 and Argentina needed a moment of magic to fight back. It came from Cardiff Blues winger Lucas González Amorosino who advanced to kick through and regather a loose pass from Edoardo Gori some fifty metres down field. Argentina subsequently recycled the ball over a series of twelve phases before crossing for the game's first try. Scoring to the left of the posts was González Amorosino who came off his right wing to step passed Kelly Haimona and Leonardo Ghiraldini.
