Having lost Chris Wyles and Blaine Scully to club duty for the remainder of the month USA Eagles headcoach Mike Tolkin made the decision to experiment with Folau Niua being given an opportunity of playing fullback. The Californian impressed which gives Tolkin options now with Folau being capable of playing in the centres and at fly half. Having won a tighthead the ball was passed to Taku Ngwenya who made a half break before being tackled inside the Romanian 22. Quick recycling two phases later then saw Niua enter the line and beat four defenders to score a decisive try in the left corner. The North Americans won the fixture 27-17 at the Arcul de Triumf in Bucharest. The Eagles now travel to England to face Tonga at Gloucester. The North Americans will play against Japan at the same venue in Rugby World Cup 2015.
