Retro Friday: Lucas González Amorosino sinks Scotland in 2011

The past few days have been very big ones in the life of Argentine outside back Lucas González Amorosino. Not only has he been named to start on the left wing for Argentina's final home test of the year but he has also been signed by Cardiff Blues to play for the Welsh region this season. The move will put him in a good position to lay a claim to be selected for Argentina's squad for Rugby World Cup 2015. It was at the Rugby World Cup in 2011 that González Amorosino made the crucial play to save Argentina. Trailing 12-6 in the final ten minutes González Amorosino scored what was, arguably, the try of the World Cup by stepping off both feet to get past five Scottish defenders and score. With Felipe Contepomi's conversion Argentina was able to set up a final pool match against Georgia knowing that a win would see the South Americans qualify for the Quarter Finals and see Scotland eliminated.
