Retro Friday: Gonzalo Quesada kicks Pumas to win v France in 2003

Ahead of Rugby World Cup 2003 Argentina played host to France for a two match test series in Buenos Aires in June. Los Pumas created history by winning the series 2-0 and doing so in conflicting matches as the first test saw Argentina winning 10-6 with Felipe Contepomi playing fly half while the second was a 33-32 epic encounter with Gonzalo Quesada playing pivot. Memories of Quesada's heroics from Rugby World Cup 1999 were resurfacing as he kicked six goals in the back-and-forward contest and secured victory with a last-gasp drop goal.

  1. I almost feel you chose this one deliberately Paul after my comment about Sancez' goal-kicking in the RC :-)

  2. Video reminded me again of that wonderful, underrated winger Diego Albanese too.
