In Salta Juan Martín Hernández provided numerous reminders of why he is one of the leading players of his generation. In addition to landing a dropgoal and providing a well directed and timed pass for winger Manuel Montero to score he also did the smaller things well. Such a case in point was a clearance kick made from inside his own half which he judged to perfection as it bounced inches short of the touch line deep in South African territory. Hernández was playing his first test of the year for Argentina and doing so in a new position. Having played fly half in the 2012 Rugby Championship and fullback in 2013 Hernández started at inside centre on Saturday and delivered.
