The UAR and CONSUR are soon to confirm that Argentina will open its home June internationals by playing host to a combined XV made up of players involved in the 2014 South American Championship. Players from Brazil, Chile, Paraguay and Uruguay will be joined by some from Argentina to form a team to take on Los Pumas on May 31 at Club CRAI in Santa Fé.
The addition of the fixture means that Argentina will now have six matches in the approaching period. The international season officially begins this Saturday with an away test match against Uruguay in Paysandú. It is to be followed by a test agaist Chile in Santiago the following weekend while Argentina's first home test, against Ireland in Resistencia will take place one week after the friendly against the South American XV.
Despite there not having been an official announcement yet from either the UAR or CONSUR the fixture is to be played. Club CRAI confirmed that it had been allocated the fixture on twitter.The date is to coincide with the 40th anniversary of the club.
With Argentina playing in Santa Fé it will play all four home matches in the interior of Argentina. Ireland is to play tests in Resistencia and Tucumán while Scotland will be playing in Córdoba. The home tests in the Rugby Championship will also see variety with La Plata, Salta and Mendoza having been allocated one test each.
