Brazilian headcoach Brent Frew has named his starting lineup to face Uruguay on Saturday at the Estádio da Montanha in Bento Gonçalves. It is to be a second round match of the 2014 South American Championship and will see the two winners from round one face-off in Southern Brazil.
Frew has named a significantly modified lineup to face Los Teros. So much so that only four players who started in the win against Chile have been retained. Those starting against Uruguay who also startyed against Los Condores are Lucas Tranquez, André Nascimento, Guilherme Coghetto and Leandro Castiglione. All four are backs with three being the back-three. The fourth, Coghetto, has made a positional change from scrumhalf to play at fly half this weekend.
The entire starting pack is therefore changed. The new-look forward combinations will see a noteworthy back-row with Matheus Daniel and Diego Lopez back together and being joined by Julio Mendoça at number eight. The second-row is will see Diego Pietrobon joining the 19 year old French based Luiz Viera who is a junior involved with Top 14 club Grenoble. In the front-row Lucas Abud and Moisés Cavalleri are to be joined by Nelson Oliveira.
Uruguay is yet to confirm its starting lineup. Los Teros left Montevideo on late Thursday and will arrive on Friday in Bento Gonçalvez.
