Nacional de Clubes: Round Four Results

The fourth round of Argentina´s domestic club competition, the Nacional de Clubes was played on Saturday. Involved were not only the leading clubs from throughout the country but also a number of notable players. Taking to the field were Pumas, Pampas and Argentine Sevens players.

In order to play for Buenos Aires clubs all senior contracted players taking to the field for an URBA club has had to sacrifice his UAR salary. As such a number of players were involved in representing their URBA clubs this weekend. Cases included scrumhalves Martín Landajo and Tomás Cubelli who were involved for CASI and Belgrano. Patricio Fernández played for Jockey Rosario, Tomás Lavanini played for Hindú while Matías Moroni  and Tomás de La Vega appeared for CUBA.

Clubs outside of Buenos Aires do not face the same rulings. Players are free to play for their clubs and some indeed did so as UAR contracted players joined other Pampas XV players in featuring this weekend. Jerónimo de la Fuente and Roman Miralles played for Rosario club Duendes, Matías Alemanno for Córdoba´s La Tablada, Facundo Isa  for Santiago Lawn Tennis and Javier Rojas and Santiago Iglesias Valdez played for Universitario de Tucumán.

Also involved were former Pumas Jaime Arocena, Francisco Bosch, Felipe Contepomi, Alvaro Galindo,  Agustín Gosio and  Hernán Senillosa while former Italian test fly half Ramiro Paz started for La Tabalda.
