A greatly changed lineup from that which won the IRB Pacific Cup has been named to face Australian Super Rugby franchise the Brumbies. The match is to be the final game of the tour for the South Americans who were undefeated in the IRB organized competition which featured the A teams from Fiji, Samoa and Tonga in addition to Junior Japan and development sides from Australia.

The Argentine side, Los Pampas XV, had underlined its credentials as a future team in Super Rugby. The tournament victory strongly indicates that Argentina is on the right track two years before joining the premier professional competition in the Southern Hemisphere and, quite possibly, the world. Prior to the Pacific Cup the Argentine side was defeated by the Western Force in Perth and to end the tour a match will be played at the Royal Military College in Canberra.
