Mendoza confirmed to host Argentina v Australia on October 4

Argentina will face the Wallabies at the estadio Malvinas Argentinas in Mendoza on October 4 in a final round Rugby Championship match this year.

Confirmation was made not long ago on twitter by the governor of the province of Mendoza, Francisco Pérez. The governor tweeted, in Spanish, at 8pm that the Four Nations match between Argentina and Australia was confirmed for Mendoza and that it would be played at the Malvinas Argentinas - the same venue which hosted tests against the Springboks in 2012 and 2013.

Confirmation from the governor confirms what had been reported last month. La Plata and Salta are expected to be confirmed as the host cities for the test matches against New Zealand and South Africa. Argentina will begin the tournament in Pretoria on August 16. The South Americans will also play against New Zealand in Napier and Australia on the Gold Coast.

It is to be the third edition of the Rugby Championship and the first with Daniel Hourcade as headcoach. Prior to the Rugby Championship Argentina is to host Ireland and Scotland with Ireland to play in Resistencia and Tucumán while Scotland has been linked to appearing at Córdoba, Rosario and Bahía Blanca. Confirmation is expected to be made this coming weekend together with the future of Super Rugby without or without Argentina´s involvement.
