USA Eagles headcoach Mike Tolkin has named a squad of thirty-three players for the end of year series which will see the USA host the New Zealand Maori this coming weekend before flying to Tblisi to face Georgia and then take on Russia in London. The Squad features home grown and exported players and many are only to feature in certain fixtures. The good news is the English based players are to feature for both tests, which could see the USA rise in the IRB World Rankings.
The squad is not at full strength with there being a number of notable players excluded. Regular second-rower Lou Stanfill is out through injury as is back-rower John Quill while both Brian Doyle and Liam Murphy are also injured. Curious is the inclusion of Luke Hume who had been said to have pulled out of representing the USA at the Rugby League World Cup after breaking his leg. He will play for the USA Eagles but Taku Ngwenya will not with the winger having been excluded to help his struggling club Biarritz fight to avoid relegation.
