Fresh from captaining Los Jaguares to victory in the Americas Rugby Championship Argentine international fullback Joaquín Tuculet has completed a return to France. He will play for Bordeaux-Begles as a medical joker. 24 year old Tuculet has joined French Top 14 side Bordeaux-Begles as an injury enforced replacement for New Zealander Bruce Reihana. He will join two other Argentina players - current first choice Puma fly half Nicolás Sánchez and former test winger Rafael Carballo.
Like many other Pumas players Tuculet had a dispute with his Top 14 club last season due to his likely involvement in the Rugby Championship. Tuculet decided to leave Grenoble which meant he was a squad member for Los Pumas despite being unattached to any club. Although Tuculet was in the Pumas squad he did not recieve any game time against Australia, New Zealand ad South Africa. He was released from the squad in time to be named as captain of Los Jagares by Daniel Hourcade and under his leadership Argentina´s domination of the Americas continued.
Tuculet remains nin the frame for international duty and is likely to be named by Hourcade in the squad set to be announced on Tuesday. All five of Tuculet´s international appearances to date came in 2012 after he had debuted as a professional player for the Sale Sharks in the Aviva Premiership. He will begin training with the Bordeaux-Begles side on Monday.
