Corcho Fernández Lobbe in doubt for November tests

Captain Corcho is in doubt for November
Argentina  could be without captain Juan Martín Fernández Lobbe for the three test tour of England, Italy and Wales in November. Fernández Lobbe lasted only twenty minutes in today´s match in Toulouse in which his club, Toulon, was defeated 13-12.

Corcho Fernández Lobbe did not start the match. Instead he was a half time replacement but lasted only fourteen minutes before getting hurt. He had to be replaced by former All Black Chris Masoe after he went down clutching his right elbow. The injury has been confirmed as a fracture.

The extent of the injury places the Argentine back-rower and captain in serious doubt for all tests next month leaving the South Americans without a captain. Should there need to be a new leader then it would likely be Patricio Albacete who played the full 80 minutes for Toulouse today.

New Pumas coach Daniel Hourcade will announce his team for the November internationals on Tuesday and if reputation is anything to go by then there could very well be some surprizes. Hourcade has a history of making wholesale changes from one week to the next.

  1. D.Hourcade does tinker with teams quite a lot.

But I do think that he knows more about player development than Phelan and his age dictates that he won't be too friendly with under performing stalwarts.

Personally I wouldn't mind seeing ARG being white washed in the AI's, if I could see more youth being tested!
