Pumas to play in new Nike shirt in Perth

The UAR announced on Thursday afternoon, Buenos Aires time that the national men´s rugby team will face Australia in a new alternative strip this weekend. The shirt is to be a new design never worn before for the purposes of international competition. 

The new stip is not to be a skyblue and white combination but instead a dark blue in between that worn by Italy and Scotland for international rugby. The new shirt is certain to divide opionons similar to what occured when Nike released the 2012 model with the stipes angled rather than being in the traditional flat arrangement. 

The Pumas players were also happy to display new rugby boots suppliued by Nike. With many posting them on facebook and twitter. The cusomary boots come with the players name or nickname included. Juan Manuel Leguizamón also received a special cap to celebrate his 50th test which willbe against the Wallabies on Saturday. 

Patricio Connolly from ESPN Scrum Argentina was in Perth for the announcement and had a report posted about the new shirt together with the following video.

    1. In a similar one without the Puma like patterns. But for test rugby it is a first.
