Paraguay and Peru win round two matches in South American B Championship

Venezuela and Paraguay contest a lineout
Round two of the 2013 South American B Championship was played on Tuesday in Asunción, Paraguay. The tournament brings together the fifth-eighth ranked South American teams and, like the South American A Championship, the competitors face-off in three matches within the space of one week.

Having defeated Peru on Sunday Paraguay enforced its status as the favorite by powering home in an impressive second half to defeat Venezuela 48-7. Earlier in the say a hard fought match between Peru and Colombia went the way of the Peruvians. A one point victory sees Peru win for the first time and set-up a match against Colombia to likely determine who finishes second behind the host nation. In losing 28-27 against Peru Colombia has blown a golden opportunity and now must defeat Paraguay and hope that Venezuela can topple Peru.

The final round wll be played on Friday.
