Argentina to play World Cup matches in London, Gloucester, Leicester and Wales

Argentina to open its 2015 campaign against New Zealand at Wembley

Earlier today Rugby World Cup Ltd released the match schedule and the venues for Rugby World Cup 2015. Argentina was handed a friendly match schedule that will see Los Pumas play its matches all on weekends. It will begin the tornament with a mouth watering clash against Rugby Championship rivals New Zealand at Wembley Stadium.Kick-off times are yet to be confirmed but given New Zealand´s time zone it would be fair to assume that the fixture would be played on late Sunday afternoon or early Sunday evening. This would mean a kick-off time of between midday and 3pm Argentina time.

A win over the All Blacks will be the goal and should it happen then Argentina´s appearance in the Quarter Finals would be almost assured. Standing in Argentina´s way will be qualifiers from Europe, Africa, and the already qualified, Tonga. Argentina´s match against Europe 1 is likely to see Los Pumas face Georgia for the third straight tournament ad the match wll be played in the rugby city of Gloucester. With former Pumas including the great Rodrigo Roncero having played for the club previously it is a match that the players will certainly be very much looking forward to. The city is also located near Bath the home of three Pumas next season - Horacio Agulla, Eusebio Guiñazú and Juan Pablo Orlandi. It is to be a Friday match and the only match played that day, meaning it is certain to kick-off at the evening, possibly at 7:30 pm local time.

Argentina´s third and fourth matches will be played at Leicester City Stadium. With the Leicester Tigers having been the home to Marcos Ayerza for a very long time and the likes of fellow probable Rugby World cup squad members Horacio Agulla and Lucas González Amorosino also having played there previously it could well see the local population cheering on Argentina. Gonzalo Camacho is also set to play for the Leicester Tigers starting next season which could add to the attraction of Los Pumas in the city ahead of the World Cup.

Argentina will face Tonga in the third, rather than fourth round of pool matches. The surprizing match schedule means Tonga´s hardest match, against the All Blacks, will be its final pool game. In other words should Argentina defeat Tonga then Tonga will face New Zealand having already been eliminated. Argentina, in contrast, will play its easier match on the final day of pool play as seven days after facing Tonga Los Pumas will take on Africa 1 in Leicester.

The prize for the winner and runner-up of Pool C will be a Quarter Final appearance at the Millennium Stadium in Wales. The winner of the pool will face the runner-up of Pool  D which includes France, Ireland, Italy, Americas 1 and Europe 2 while the runner-up of Pool C will face the winner of Pool D.

Argentina´s Match Schedule
Sunday September 20 2015 Argentina v New Zealand, London (Wembley)
Friday September 25 Argentina v Europe 1, Glouceser
Sunday October 4 Argentina v Tonga, Leicester
Sunday October 11 Argentina v Africa 1, Leicester
