Released today by the UAR:

The High Performance Department of the Union Argentina de Rugby has confirmed the contracted and scholarship players for 2013. After the historic step taken last year, the UAR will continue with the regimen used and this season will see seven recruited players and 30 scholarships.

In this regard, the President of the High Performance Department, Manuel Galindo, said: "It is important to continue the great step taken last year. Hiring is critical to allow better development of our players and in turn ensures we can count on them for a period of time. "

"Being able to rely on the system with them recruited seven players plus the 30 fellows, is of great importance. The scholarships are part of the system development and should aim to achieve the level of contract, which is the next step, "said Galindo.

A list of contracted continuing from last year joins the youth wing of Pucara, Manuel Montero, who already wore the shirt of the Pumas in the windows of June and November 2012.

For his part, the Director of the High Performance Plan of the UAR, Francisco Rubio, said that "we believe that these players are important for the system that can integrate a National Team in the future, which is why we want to work with its development and to support them in this way. "

  1. Looks good, but isn't Senatore going to sign with Worcester? And what happened to Santiago Guzman?

    1. Senatore joins Worcester in August, but really in October due to his certain involvement in The Rugby Championship.

Guzmán is down the pecking order in the secondrow department. With Vallejos and Galarza being certain starters and Julio Farías also to play secondrow for the umas this year Guzmán is unlikely to get many more opportunities. Curisously, he was to play for Stade Français several years ago but through injury missed out. Now the club has Juan Cruz Guillemaín who is very young and likely to get game time this year, maybe v Georgia in June.
