Top 14 - Round 12 Wrap

Perpignan 39-13 Agen
The relegation threatened Agen were badly defeated in an away match on Friday evening. The result was highly positive for Perpignan who have overcome a terrible start to the season with good performances since October. Agen are in trouble and will have to do without former Argentine international secondrower Esteban Lozada who was injured in this match.

Toulouse 30-22 Clermont
While Clermont have won more than fifty matches in a row at home the club has had problems in producing the same form when playing away. Toulouse´s eight point win sees Clermont return home without collecting a bonus point and it is now in the sights of both Castres and Montpellier who could overtake the 2010 French Champions in the coming rounds. Canada´s Jamie Cudmore started in the backrow for Clermont.

Toulon 39-3 Grenoble
A masterclass performance from the top of the table Toulon saw the club strengthen its position with a bnus point victory. Argentine international backrower and captain, Juan Martín Fernández Lobbe impressed for the winners as he scored a try. He played against a teammate as the young Los Pumas fullback Joaquín Tuculet started at fullback for Grenoble.

Montpellier 29-22 Bayonne
Four Pumas started for Montpellier with the only one not to play international rugby in 2012 being the most important. Martín Bustos Moyano started on the wing and played ther full match, kicking fourteen points. The teams remaining fifteen points came from tries with Pumas hooker, Agustín Creevy scoring the first. He was joined in the frontrow by Maximilano Bustos who played the full match at tighthead prop. Lucas González Amorosino also started, playing 74 minutes before being replaced due to injury. Argentine international centre, Santi Fernández was on the bench.

Biarritz 25-22 Bordeaux-Begles
The home victory sees Biarritz edge closer to a return to the Top Six. It was lucky to win, however as Bordeauz-Begles played a solid match scoring three tries to one. Argentina´s new found sensational goalkicker, Nicolás Sánchez started the match at flyhalf for Bordeaux while Francisco Gómez Kodela started at tighthead prop for Biarritz. Marcelo Bosch did not play but USA Eagles winger Taku Ngwenya did. He played on the right wing.

Mont de Marsan 15-31 Castres
The misery continues for bottom of the table Mont de Marsan. The club is three wins behind Bordeaux-Begles which makes the teams chances of survival very complicated. Castres, on the other hand are safe in the play-off´s zone and looking like being a safe bet to still be there at the end of the season. Uruguay´s Rodrigo Capó Ortega did not play for Castres.

Racing Métro 23-15 SF Paris
Racing Métro transfered its home match to the Stade de France and came away with four valuable competition points. Juan Martín Hernández started at fullback for Racing Métro and played the full 80 minutes. He was joined in the secondhalf by Juan Imhoff who was a half time replacement. The Argentine-Italian, Sergio Parisse started for Stade Français while USA backrower Scott LaValla was a replacement in the 60th minute.
