Top 14 - Round 8 Wrap

Goméz Kodela returned
Castres 16-13 Clermont
A good home win for Castres keeps the team in the Top six. Clermont stay in the top three  but alongside Toulouse the club has spilt behind Toulon. Uruguay´s Rodrigo Capó Ortega started in the secondrow for Castres.

Biarritz 9-36 Toulon
Toulon recovered from a poor showing against Toulouse seven days prior to dominate the Basque´s in Biarritz. USA Eagles winger, Taku Ngwenya started for Biarritz and Los Pumas prop Francisco Goméz Kodela started at tighthead. Both sides missed players to international duty as Argentina hosted Australia.

Mont de Marsan 28-30 Stade Français Paris
The Parisians continue to look a shadow of the dominant team from five years ago and almost lost to the bottom side, Mont de Marsan. It was a helpful win for Stade Français but not a good one. Mont de Marsan is still winless but now has registered competition points after collecting a bonus point. The Argentine born Italian captain, Sergio Parisse started in the backrow while the USA´s Scott LaValla was a replacement from the bench.

Bayonne 37-16 Agen
Bayonne´s best performance of the season significantly eases pressure as the club continues to get further away from the relegation zone. Esteban Lozada did not play for Agen due to suspension but Miguel Avramovic made his first start of the season, playing in the centre. Belisario Agulla was unused.

Grenoble 28-23 Perpignan
The dream run continues as Grenoble won again. It was a coem from behind victory that featured Pumas fullback Joaquin Tuculet on the bench. Perpignan´s loss continues the 2009 Champion´s poor season. The club is in great need for some reinforcements, particularly in the backline.

Racing Métro 12-16 Montpellier
Both clubs have suffered from the loss of Pumas players to international duty but both are, nonetheless, sitting in good positions in the standings. Racing Métro had three players in the Rugby Championship match against the Wallabies and Montpellier had four. Montpellier´s away victory Maximilano Bustos came on for Montpellier as a replacement in the 59th minute. Nahuel Lobo was also on the bench.

Bordeaux Begles 32-34 Toulouse
It took a penalty try on fulltime for Toulouse to win this match. Such was the performance from Bordeaux-Begles that the club nearly caused a significant upset. Rafael Carballo did not feature for the home side while Nicolás Sánchez, Patricio Albacete and Nicolás Vergallo were all in Rosario for the match against Australia.
