Argentine international outside centre, Gabriel Ascárate has signed a contract to play his rugby in France. After almsot joining both Lyon and Bayonne last season the Los Pampas XV centre will now be playing professional rugby in France, albeit in the Pro d2. The Tucumán back has played for Argentina, most recently in June in place of Marcelo Bosch and Goznalo Tiesi as neither player featured. he also played against the Worcester Warriors in a warm-up match before Rugby World Cup 2011 but did not make the squad for the tournament.
He moves to France after playing good rugby for Los Pampas XV in the Vodacom Cup. He was a starting centre in the 2011 Championship winning season and has been pushing for higher honors but has not been able to break through.
