Nicolás Basile signs for Lyon

Argentine prop, Nicolás Basile is returning to France. The 25 year old has signed a contract with Lyon OU to play as a Medical Joker in the 2012-2013 season. He will be playing in the Pro d2 for the second time after previously playing for Aurillac while he also used to play for Montauban. Basile was a part of the Los Jaguares squad that competed in the IRB Nations Cup this past June in Romania. He is seen as a potential Puma of the future and is likely to play out his six month contract with Lyon and then return to Argentina to play in the 2013 Vodacom Cup with Los Pampas XV. Not too long ago he had confirmed his departure from France to play for Buenos Aires club Liceo Militar. 

Basile is uncapped having never played an international match for Argentina. He has, nonetheless represented Argentina ad the age grade level and has also played for the A team. In 2006 he was in the Argentine under 19 team and played six matches for Los Pumitas. He faced Paraguay, Uruguay and Chile in South America and then faced Samoa, Ireland and South Africa at the 2006 IRB Under 19 World Championship in Dubai. His return to Argentine colors in the IRB Nations Championship saw him face Portugal, Romania and Russia. He scored one try against Russia.
