Miguel Angel Coronel Densy to debut for Ecuador

The inclusion of Miguel Ángel Coronel was the feature of Ecuador´s squad named for the upcoming South American Sevens competition to be played in Rio de Janeiro. Ecuador is to arrive in the Brazilian city this Friday. The Spanish based player has been playing in the country´s premier competition, the División de Honor and on the European stage for La Vila in the Amlin Challenge Cup as a fullback. He now gets to represent his country at the continental level as Ecuador are to debut in the biggest Confederación Sudamericana de Rugby (CONSUR) Sevens event of the year. It is to be a two day competition involving ten countries. They are Argentina, Brasil, Chile, Colombia, Costa Rica, Ecuador, Paraguay, Peru, Uruguay and Venezuela. It could be expanded to twelve as CONSUR are awaiting to confirm, or not, the involvement of Bolivia and Guatemala.

Ecuador is trained by Douglas Rodríguez of Venezuela and last month he held a training camp in the Ecuadorian city of Guayaquil on February 2-3 and then another in the capital, Quito on February 24-25 at the estadio Municipal de Tumbaco. Ecuador are to compete in Group B of the CONSUR Sevens, facing off against Brazil, Parguay, Uruguay and Venezuela.
