Paul Emerick joins London Wasps

USA Eagles international outside centre, Paul Emerick is making a return to professional rugby after signing a contract to see out the current season for Aviva Premiership side, the London Wasps. The 31 year old is due to arrive in London today and confirmed so himself on his facebook account where, on Saturday, he posted London tomorrow. Signed for the rest of the season with the Wasps. Emerck has previously played in Europe for Italian side Amatori Catania and Overmach Parma and had his most impressive run in the old continent with the Newport-Gwent Dragons from 2006-2008. He also played for Irish province Ulster on a three month contract last season.

The 47 time capped international has played in three Rugby World Cup campaigns for the USA and was his country´s star back at the 2011 tournament in New Zealand. Emerick played in three of the Eagles´ four matches, scoring a try vs Ireland and setting up Chris Wyles vs Italy. In total, Emerick was scored 15 tries in his international career which started in 2003 vs Spain in Fort Lauderdale, Florida. Despite being into his thirties now, Emerick may well have it in him to appear at a fourth Rugby World Cup.
