Hanno Dirksen wonder try vs Edinburgh

Hanno Dirksen
The international future of Hanno Dirksen remains a mystery as the young Ospreys winger is yet to play test rugby. He is South African born but spent his teenage years in the United States of America where he went through the ranks and played age group rugby for the country. Now as a young adult he is playing for Welsh region, the Ospreys with former USA mens head-coach, Scott Johnson in charge. As suggested here on Argentina 2023 the 20 year old looks set to jump ship and play for Wales rather then the USA. While the plaeyr has every ruight to do so and will, indeed, meet the IRB´s player eligibility laws such a move would be a killer blow to USA Rugby after a lot of time and money was invested in funding and supporting him through the USA rugby system.

This past weekend the former USRFF Advanced Player Grant player scored a greta try for the Ospreys in a Rabo Direct Pro 12 match vs Scottish side Edinburgh. The try should attract the attention of the Welsh coaches. The most unofrtunate thing about it is that Dirksen would be used by Wales as a winger - the one position in which Wales have significant depth. The USA, in contrast would use him as a play maker and he looks to be perfectly groomed to play at flyhalf for the USA at Rugby World Cup 2015.
