Brazil´s Duque Brothers to play for Blagnac?

Moisés Duque

The ongoing saga of whether or not Lucas Duque (Tank) and Moisés Duque will play rugby as professionals in France continues. Rumours have led to Top 14 Orange side Castres and Pro d2 side Albi as possible destinations but neither rumour has been proven correct. Now, however, it seems that the desintation of the brothers has a stronger chance of being true. The Duque´s did indeed have tests at Albi but Moisés told Brazilian site Terceiro Tempo that the suggestion the players could play for Castres was nothing more than a rumour.

The Duque brothers may well play for French third division  (Fédérale 1) club, Blagnac a club based in the zones of Europe´s most successful team of all time, Toulouse. In an official meeting with Blagnac, the brothers underwent initial testing under the watch of backs and head-coach Jean Marc Aué and forwards coach, Thierry Bourdet. Alain Lisetto, the clubs manager, also participated. The clubs Director and Vice President, Mr. Sicre, also recieved and went through the more administrative and bureaucratic aspects, covering what is needed for them to live in France.

All should be revealed soon. The multiple-time Brazilian champions with São José will undergo further tests for Blagnac to have a greater understanding of their physical endurance and technical capabilities to understand whether or not they are adapt to compete for Blagnac next season.
