Amlin Challenge Cup Round 4 Wrap : Argentine and USA players in action

Nicolás Sánchez
With still two rounds yet to play the teams which will advance to the Amlin Challenge Cup Quarter Finals have almost already been confirmed. The top side from all five groups advances to the Quarter Finals. The three remaining places  are taken up by teams from the Heineken Cup that fniish second in their respective groups but fail to make the Quarter Finals of that competition. It will take something of a miracle for the red-hot Stade Français to not make the play-off´s. Fellow French sides Brive and Toulon are also highly likely to top their respective groups while the London Wasps´ win over Bayonne places the Aviva Premiership side in pole position in Group three. The third round of action featured a number of current and former Pumas players as the only World Cup Semi Finalist to never have hosted a Rugby World Cup continues to contribute quality players to big name European clubs.

Group One: Worcester Warriors 57 - 13 Bucureşti
A bonus point win for Worcester sees the Warriors chances of making the Quarter Finals continue but they need Stade Français to clip up if they are to go beyond the group stage.
Group One: Stade Français 45 - 3 Crociati
The class of Stade Français showed as a vastly understrenghted team blasted Italian side Crociati off the pitch. None of Stade Français´s Argentine players played nor did USA secondrower, Scott LaValla or captain Sergio Parisse.

2 Worcester Warriors 15
3 Bucureşti 5
4 Crociati 0

Toulon revenged its loss last week in Newcastle as the favorite to advance from the group completed a bonus point win to regain the lead of group two. Pumas backrowr Leonardo Senatore played the full 80 minutes for Toulon in the 6 shirt.

Group Two: Petrarca 3 - 45 Lyon OU
The struggling French side made short work of Italian side, Petrarca and could finsh the group in second place or, mathematically, in first despending on results. Senatore´s Pumas backrower colleague, Juan Leguizamón was rested for Lyon.

1 Toulon 15
2 Newcastle Falcons 13
3 Lyon OU 9
4 Petrarca 0

Tucumán´s Nicolás Sánchez started at flyhalf for Bordeaux-Begles and scored a try, converted it and kicked a penalty. Following the win it is unlikely, but nevertheless possible, that Bordeaux-Begles could make the Quarter Finals. German Bustos played flyhalf for Rovigo.

Group Three: London Wasps 25 - 11 Bayonne
Bordeaux-Begles will need to defeat the London Wasps and Bayonne to make the play-offs. The Wasps claimined top spot of the group and should be able to go on to qualify in first place.

Rodrigo Martínez Sánchez of Córdoba started for La Vila. Chile´s Juan Pablo Vasquez was on the bench. But it was not South America´s developing sides that was the most interesting point of La Vila´s bench as Bambi Coronel Densy qualifies to play for Ecuador.

Group Five: Sale Sharks 41 -21 Agen
Agen again underperformed as they side continues to give preference to the Top 14 Orange.
