Horacio Agulla try hurts Northampton

Story Image

Leicester overcame Northampton 30-25 on Saturday in a tight encounter at Welford Road. The match had two red cards in the 13th minute as Alesana Tuilagi and Tom Wood were both shown red following a mass brawl which was started by Chris Ashton pulling Tuilagi out into touch by his hair. The red cards were as a result of the non sending off of Manu Tuilagi last season where most thought he was lucky to only receive yellow, but on this occasion the incident perhaps merited yellows not reds.

Leicester took control after the incident, but Northampton came back into the match and led 25-23, but Argentine winger Horacio Agulla received a pass from 45 metres out and ran in unopposed, and finished off by mocking England winger Chris Ashton's try celebration.

Agulla has had a good season with Leicester so far, last season he was used very much as a reserve but this season he has featured more regularly. The fact he was chosen to start this key game ahead of All Black Scott Hamilton shows he is valued by the Tigers management, unlike Lucas González Amorosino in his two seasons at Leicester.
