Canada name team to face Tonga

Canadian rugby headcoach, Kieran Crowley has announced his team to take on Tonga on Wedesesday in what is to be Canada´s first match of Rugby World Cup 2011. The game is to be played in the far north of New Zealand at the Northland Events Centre in the city of Whangarei. While Canada are debuting, Tonga is to play its second match, after playing in the World Cup opener vs New Zealand on Friday. Kieran Crowley has named a similar team to that which had success in the 2011 Churchill Cup and in the August internationals vs the United States of America. An interesting selection point is the secondrow which features two players who have played a lot in the backrow. As such, Canada are looking to be highly mobile and to beat Tonga to the breakdown. Both secondrwoers are professionals with Jamie Cudmore being a former French Champion with Clermont and Jebb Sinclair having signed for London Irish. The backrow also features notable players with Chauncey O'Toole likely to be key to Canada, who will be looking for another inspiration performance from the Ospreys backrower. Canada´s backline is generally picked on experience but is also a highly attacking outfit that should be able to finish off opportunities.

Canada have never lost to Tonga at a Rugby World Cup but do not enter as favorites.
