Worcester vs Argentina - Pumas are all changes

Los Pumas headcoach, Santiago Phelan has changed his entire starting XV for Tuesday´s match vs Worcester in England. Phelan´s team for the match vs the Worcester Warriors was named on Sunday with backrower Alvaro Galindo of Racing Metro having to pullout of the match. He was to play in the number 6 shirt but as of Monday morning it has been confirmed that Juan Manuel Leguizamón, whoc was initially named on the bench, will start in the backrow in place of Galindo. The changes are to give all squad members match time ahead of Rugby World Cup 2011 with the match in Worcester being Los Pumas final hit-out before the start of the show piece tournament on September 09.

With both captain Felipe Contepomi and vice-captain Juan Martín Fernández Lobbe being left out of the match day squad Agustín Creevy has been named as captain for the match. He will form a formidable frontrow combination with Marcos Ayerza and Maximiliano Bustos. They be be joined by a pair of young secondrowers in Tomás Vallejos and Mariano Galarza who are in competition with one another for the seconrdrowers reserves spot (the number 18 shirt) for the Rugby World Cup clash against England. The two players confirmed for the backrow are similarly fighting against one another for the Pumas 19 shirt with Alejandro Campos needing a strong match to stay ahead of Leonardo Senatore.

The backline is a vastly inexperienced and young one based on the successful Los Pampas XV who won South Africa´s Vodacom Cup earlier in 2011. Agustín Figuerola will play scrumhalf and combine with Nicolás Sánchez who is to be Contepomi´s deputy in New Zealand. The centres combination of Gabriel Ascarate and Agustín Gosio have, like Sánchez, never played an international against a tier one opponent. The abck-three appears to be the strength of the backs with Lucas González Amorosino to play fullback, Lucas Borges right wing and the star in the making, Juan Imhoff, to play left wing. Imhoff is reported to be in with a strong chance of starting vs England in place of Gonzalo Camacho.
