Uncapped Argentine backrower, Tomás Morixe, has signed a deal to play in France for Stade Olympic chambérien in what is the country´s third division, the Fédérale 1. It marks a return to European professional rugby for Morixe who previously played for Livorno in the Italian second division known as the Serie A. Morixe´s deal is a one year contract which will see him stay at away from his Buenos Aires club, SIC, for at least a further 12 months. The club is based in the city of Chambéry which has a population of 57,000 and is part of the Rhône-Alpes region. The region is increasingly becoming improtant in French rugby circles with the regions largest city and France´s third largest, Lyon now in the Top 14 for the 2011-2012 season. The second and third largest were both in the Pro d2 with Lyon last season and onw of those, Grenoble, is looking good for a place in the Top 14 in 2012-2013. Chambéry is the regions sixth largest city.
