Round two of the third annual Canadian Rugby Championship took place on Wednesday with teams backing up after playing round one on Saturday. After only two roudns the competition is proving to be highly competitive and unpredictable. The two losing teams from round one were winners in round two and by big scores. As Toronto is getting set to host an international match this Saturday between Canada and the USA, the city´s province, Ontario, has given its people every reason to go out in fulls support of the national side. The Ontario Blues simply demolished the highly fancied British Colombia Bears in running in seven tries in completing a 46-21 win in Vancouver. Round one´s other losing side also bounced back to impress away from home. The Rock were too good for the Prairie Wolfpack in winning the contest 29-8 at Calgary Rugby Park. The results mean that all four teams have one win and one loss after two rounds and that the Ontario Blues are in first place due to having scored the biggest win and having scored a bonus point in losing in round one. At this stage all therefore remain in contention for the CRC title.
Round three will start on August 13 with the Prairie Wolfpack hosting the BC Bears. The other match of Round three will take place the following week as The Rock will play host to the Ontario Blues in Newfoundland on August 20th.
