The status of Argentina as a global rugby power certainly has popular support and respect as the global rugby public have voted in a second former Pumas player as the best player of all time in his position at a Rugby World Cup. The IRB´s weekly rugby program, Total Rugby, is letting the public vote for its favorite player in each position and announcing the prefered player in that position weekly. Retired Pumas prop from Rugby World Cup 1999, 2003 and 2007, Omar Hasan was chosen as the best ever ahead of impressive players including former England captain and 2003 Rugby World Cup winner Phil Vickery and 1995 All Black Olo Brown. Hasan joins Agustín Pichot in the all time team to underline the massive contribution Argentina has made to the global game. It also showcases the popularity of Los Pumas and the lasting impression that the performance from 2007 has made.
All that is left is for Argentina to host a Rugby World Cup.
