Alberto Di Bernardo signs for Treviso
With the relegation of Bourgoin to France´s second division, the Pro d2, a number of players are moving on to play elsewhere. Argentine born flyhalf, Alberto Di Bernardo, has confirmed that he will be leaving the club to play in the newly renamed tournament, the RaboDirect Pro 12 which takes over the naming rights of the Magners League. Di bernardo will play for Italian side Benetton Treviso in what is to be his second stint playing in Italy after previously playing for L'Aquila in 2006. After one season in Italy he moved to England to play the 2006-2007 season for the Cornish Pirates in England second division and then to Leeds Carnegie on a two year deal. He then moved to France to play for Bourgoin starting in 2009 and is now leaving for a better opportunity.
Di bernardo is from Rosario but was selected to play for Italy A in 2005 in a match vs Tonga. As such he is not able to represent Argentina. Despite being avaliable for Italy he remains uncapped and is now 30 years old. He will compete ith Italian international flyhalf Kristopher Burton and South African Willem de Waal for the Treviso number 10 jersey. Treviso had a positive debut season in 2010-2011, finishing 10th in the league.
