Mauricio Guidone to play in France for Mont-de-Marsan

The number of young Argentine players picking up professional contracts continues to grow following the confirmation that 23 year old Argentine prop Mauricio Guidone has signed to play in France for Mont-de-Marsan in France´s second division, the Pro d2. Guidone is to join the South-Western French team on a one year contract in what is to be his first professional deal. He is a part of the Los Jaguares team participating right now in the IRB Nations Cup in Romania. He was selected for Los Jaguares following impressive form for Los Pampas XV in South Africa´s Vodacom Cup. Guidone was the teams regular loosehead prop and follows his fellow Pampas XV frontrow colleagues to France with Maximiliano Bustos and Agustín Creevy both joining Montpellier, Francisco Nahuel Tetaz Chaparro will play for Stade Français and Roan Guillermo will be joining the London Wasps in the Aviva Premiership.

In addition to playing prop for Los Jaguares, Guidone has also played representaitve rugby at hooker including for Argentina in the recent 2011 South American Championship where he was hooker vs Uruguay. Guidone will have a fellow Argentine at the club in the form of uncapped secondrower, Leandro Cedaro. The clubs is also home to Canadian international secondrower, Josh Jackson.

Mont-de-Marsan, also known as Stade Montois, are looking to get back into the French Top 14 for the first time since 2008-2009.
