Chauncey O'Toole - Worlds best amateur player?

Man of the match for Canada in its Churchill Cup matches vs both Italy A and Russia, backrower Chauncey O´Toole has put his name up for a place in the starting side for Canada at New Zealand 2011. He was on a short term deal with the Glasgow Warriors at the start of the 2010-2011 season before being released to rerun to Canada. Glasgow went on to have a poor season, finishing near the bottom of the ladder. O´Toole use the time in Canada to prepare himself for international selection with the World Cup approaching. It seems to have worked as he has been in outstanding form for Canada and must surely be in the sights of European clubs who are shopping for new backrowers for the 2011-2012 season. The 25 year old is sure to feature for Canada at New Zealand 2011.

  3. Glasgow had a number of players on fulltime contracts in O´Toole´s position. He was not let go, rather he made the choice to go back to Canada to try to get maxmimum game time to give himself the best chance of perparing for Canada´s test matches.

He should be signed by a top French club before or during the World Cup. They have the money and many need better players.
