Andrés Bordoy to play for Section paloise

The most surprizing player selected to travel as part of the Los Pumas squad of 39 players to Pensacola, Florida in July is uncapped frontrower Andrés Bordoy. Los Pumas head coach, Santiago Phelan stated that Bodoy´s ability of playing both prop and hooker was the reason for his inclusion. Andrés Bordoy is uncapped but has appeared for Argentina´s A side known as Los Jaguares. He is nevertheless, a professional player based in France. He played in the 2010-2011 French Top 14 Championship for La Rochelle who finished thirteenth and as such have been relegated back to the Pro 22 for the 2011-2012 season. Bordoy will be playing in the Pro d2 but not for La Rochelle. Rather he will be playing for another former Top 14 side in the form of Section paloise, in the South-Western French city of Pau.

The club is the former home of Pumas secondrower Patricio Albacete and has an impressive history including being a semi finalist of the 1998 Heineken Cup and 2005 European Challenge Cups. The club won the 2000 European Challenge Cup and is a three time French champion, msot recently in 1964. Pau finished in 9th place of 16 in the 2010-2011 Pro d2 and will be targetting a place in the Top 5 in the new season to try to get back into the Top 14.
