Montpellier sign Agustín Creevy

Following Rugby World Cup 2011 the number of Argentine players at Montpellier will increase from three to five with the French Top 14 club confirming the arrival of Pumas international winger Lucas González Amorosino on Monday and now hooker Agustín Creevy both on two year contracts. The Pumas hooker who is now backup to the eternal Pumas #2, Mario Ledesma was playing for Clermont this season but decided to return to Buenos Aires in an effort to get more game time and return for Los Pampas XV in South Africa´s Vodacom Cup. Creevy is certain to be included in Argentina´s squad for Rugby World Cup 2011 and looms as the Pumas first choice hooker in 2012. Creevy has played 10 internationals for Argentina and was a replacement for Mario Ledesma in all six of Los Pumas tests in 2010.

His move to Montpellier will not only unite him with fellow Pumas frontrow, prop Juan Figallo but it will lift his game by giving him more matches at a higher level. In addition to Amorosino and Creevy, Montpellier have also secured the services Jean-Baptiste Peyras and Remy Martin from Bayonne and Yoan Audrin from Castres. Curiously, the club now looks set to match Stade Français as it will be the home to five Argentine international players with winger Martín Bustos Moyano and inside centre Santiago Fernández both having two more years at the club alongside the three above mentioned players..
